Love my in-home newborn session last week. If you follow my work at all, you know I love a more of a “life style” feel to my sessions, and working in a family’s home certainly allows that to happen. Many times I answer the question “What’s the difference between a studio session and an in-home session”. I would say one thing that differs (besides the obvious location!) is that the lifestyle sessions are really focused on relationships and connection. Since newborns are rarely alone in those first days and are so sweet to hold, I like capturing them snuggling as they would naturally.
This gorgeous family welcomed me with open arms and I loved meeting them and their sweet boys. Big brother deserves some sort of award for being crazy amounts of cooperative and happy! Often big brothers aren’t nearly as excited about a new baby as we’d like them to be, but this guy was all over his new brother and very agreeable to hold him as long as he could. Just the sweetest!
At the end of our time, I asked if we could do a quick bath time for some photos. I love catching a normal daily activity, something to help you remember this blur of a season in life. Sure helps when a kitchen is this pretty and gives me so many windows! 😉
What a treat to meet this family (who by the way recently moved here from Canada, and it’s true… all Canadians are so kind!), can’t wait to work with them again!
